Question : Will Acupuncture Hurt?
Answer :
No. Acupuncture needles bear little resemblance to the hyperdermic syringes used in blood tests and injections which you may have seen before. Needles are only a fraction of their size, are not hollow but solid, and are extremely fine, and therefore should be pain-free. What you should feel in a treatment is a local sensation of warmth, tingling, numbness, and heaviness around the acupuncture needle, which indicates that the treatment is working. Most people find this sensation deeply relaxing and drift off to sleep.
